DECARIE MOTORS: A FAMILY OF FINE AUTOMOBILES
What does a car dealership have to do to stay in business for almost 60 years? Give better service than anyone else, of course. But the easy answer disguises the Segal family's history of constant improvement in catering to the public need for quality service and products.
More experience certainly means increased knowledge, which translates into better service and performance. However, such experience, much like respect, can only be earned. When Moe Segal and his late father, Max, opened a used car dealership in 1946, there was only space for a two car garage and a small office on their 3,600 square foot Decarie Boulevard lot. Moe had trained as an accountant before seeing active service in the R.C.A.F. during the war. So, the automotive industry was a natural outlet for his talents. Father and son taught each other and grew together.
Local government expropriated the dealership site in the mid-sixties, and the Segal's moved to a new location near l'Acadie Circle that would be their home for the next 35 years. Now representing four luxury manufacturers: Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Bentley, by 2002, they had outgrown their current location. In June of 2002, they relocated to their new state-of-the-art facilities at the corner of Decarie and de la Savane. Aptly, the name Decarie Motors signified their presence on Decarie Boulevard once again.
Moe retired in 1990, leaving the business in the capable hands of his sons, Joel and Bruce. Moe's father, Max Segal, used to say, "My customers are my friends." Moe passed on his father's business acumen to his own sons, who run Decarie Motors as a Dealer-Client partnership. In the tradition of the fine automobiles they provide, the family dedicates themselves to faithfully serving their valued customers. Quite obviously their goal of maximum retention still extends to those experienced enough to invest in a dealer of excellence. Add over 100 years of employee loyalty and 100 years of combined technical experience in the Service department, multiply that with the Segal family's 100 years of combined knowledge, and figure out exactly just how much service is bettered by experience. Of course, there is an easier way to solve the problem. Simply drop in and experience quality firsthand.
